The Linn County Sheriff’s Office has named a new deputy to patrol forest lands.
Sgt. Colin Pyle has been selected to fill the Mountain-Marine Patrol Sergeant position, announced Lt. Brian Hardy.
Sgt. Pyle has been with the office since 2007 when he started in the Search and Rescue Program. He has worked as a patrol deputy, major crimes detective, and patrol sergeant before sliding over to the Mountain Program.
“I am super excited to have Sgt. Pyle in the position as he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team,” said Lt. Hardy in a press release.
“I started my career at the Sheriff’s Office as a youth volunteer for our Search and Rescue Team when I was in high school and never left,” said Sgt. Pyle. “I attended Oregon State University and worked as a seasonal Marine Patrol Deputy for the Sheriff’s Office during my summers,” he added.
“Outside of work, I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, reading, and spending time with my family,” said Sgt.Pyle.
He can be contacted through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. He can also be reached by voicemail by calling LCSO Dispatch at 541-967-3911.
Sergeant Pyle will be on patrol Wednesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
