Northern Idaho seed sources has resistance to black spot, a fungal disease that affects aspen in the Willamette Valley. Aspen forms a dense root system, spreading quickly in eroded or burned areas, good for soil reclamation projects. Leaf design allows the small leaves to flutter with the slightest breeze.
